Highlands College and University College Jersey has announced the appointment of a new Vice-Principal for Curriculum.
Kate Hobbs is described as an "accomplished educator with many years of experience in leadership and management".
In her previous role as a Deputy Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Bath College, Ms Hobbs spearheaded several strategic initiatives including development of all curriculum and quality assurance around teaching, learning and assessment; the education and training of all staff and students, and project management of both capital and revenue streams.
As the new Vice-Principal for Curriculum at Highlands College, Ms Hobbs will "play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the technical and vocational programmes offered. The college said she will work collaboratively with the existing leadership team, department heads and other stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum remains current, engaging, and aligned with best educational practices and industry needs", according to the college.
Ms Hobbs said: “I am excited to be joining a dynamic and committed senior team at Highlands College and will use my experience of quality and curriculum and love for people and further education to deliver teaching, learning and assessment opportunities which meet the needs of the island community and Government of Jersey Skills Strategy.”
