Fund services provider Intertrust has promoted Kristian Walton to the position of Deputy Global Head of Risk and Compliance.
Based in Jersey, Mr Walton will have direct oversight of Jersey, Guernsey, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore and China.
He will also have a wider remit across Intertrust's 30 other jurisdictions as he is a member of the senior risk and compliance management team. He will be responsible for applying stringent levels of regulatory compliance across the group including meeting the latest international standards, the use and maintenance of risk assessments and compliance with data protection and information security management legislation.
Mr Walton (pictured), a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI), joined Intertrust in 2014, joined Intertrust, then Elian, in 2014 after working in the private banking industry for several years.
He commented on his promotion saying: “I’ve witnessed first-hand the close-knit culture, clear strategy and ambitious professionals within Intertrust so it’s really exciting to take on this new challenge that will benefit the entire Intertrust group.”
