Investment funds expert joins Ogier’s Jersey team

Investment funds expert Marie-Claire Fudge has joined Ogier in Jersey to complement its investment funds team.

Mrs Fudge, a funds specialist with expertise in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, joins as a Managing Associate.

It’s a return to Ogier for Mrs Fudge, who previously worked for Ogier in BVI for several years. Prior to joining Ogier in 2016, she was the local head of funds for another leading offshore law firm.

Ogier funds partner Niamh Lalor said: “We are delighted to have someone of Marie-Claire’s experience and calibre join our team. We have had a busy year with a number of new funds launched and I am sure that Marie-Claire will be a great addition to our team.“

Market commentator IFLR recommended Mrs Fudge as a Rising Star in 2015, saying: “She advises her clients on nuanced and sensitive funds-related matters.”

She is also “highly recommended” by the Legal 500, which also notes she is a “key practitioner”.

Her practice covers a wide range of funds, corporate and regulatory work including advising on the set-up and launch of open-ended and closed-ended funds and providing initial and on-going advice to funds, investment managers/advisors, promotors, sponsors, directors, general partners, service providers and investors.

She regularly presents on fund topics, most recently at the 2015 Hedge Fund Americas conference in New York.
