A 15 strong shortlist of individuals has been announced for this years’ Institute of Directors' awards in Jersey.

The local branch of the IoD announced the list yesterday as part of their annual search to find the top leaders in Jersey’s private, public and voluntary sectors.

Commenting on this year’s shortlist, IoD Jersey Chair Chris Clark said: “Once again this is a strong shortlist demonstrating the excellence in leadership we are fortunate to have right across the public, private and third sectors in Jersey.”

The 2017 shortlist is as follows:

DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR FOR A SMALL ORGANISATION

DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR FOR A MEDIUM ORGANISATION

Chris Cotillard, Alex Picot Trust Company
Tim Crowley, La Mare Wine Estates
Tom Hacquoil, Calligo 

DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR FOR A LARGE ORGANISATION

Simon Mackenzie, Intertrust 
Jon McCulloch, Sure International 
Paul Savery, Barclays

YOUNG DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR

Pippa Davidson, Fairway Group
Aidan McAvinue, Smith & Williamson 
Marie-Clara Thaureux, GLS Outsourcing

PUBLIC/THIRD SECTOR DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR

Keith Beecham, Visit Jersey
Nigel Crocker, The Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation
Darren Scott, Economic Development

The winners of the 2017 Jersey Director of the Year Awards will be announced at a black tie awards dinner on the 28 April - supported by long-term 'Gold Sponsor,' Appleby and 'Silver Sponsor' HSBC.

Michael Cushing, Jersey Managing Partner, Appleby, added: “The shortlist for the Jersey Director of the Year Awards is impressively diverse, and it is encouraging to see real strength in depth when it comes to successfully leading local organisations in a hugely complex environment.”
