Long-serving customer adviser retires from JEC

Monday 02 March 2020

A Jersey Electricity mobile customer care adviser, who visited around 10,000 homes to help customers save on their energy bills, is stepping down after 28 years with the company.

Jacqui Crawley, who has also been a familiar face at the Annual Electric Blanket Safety Test, is JEC's longest serving roving customer service employee.

She joins her husband, Ian, a former Operations Manager of Jersey Electricity, in retirement.

The pair met while working for South Wales Electricity, and moved to Jersey 35 years ago after honeymooning on the island.

Commenting on her final day last week, Mrs Crawley explained that her role had changed over her nearly three decades of service - from showing people how to operate electric heating to now focusing on showing people how to run their appliances more efficiently and save money.

She said will miss "meeting people and feeling I've helped them" the most.
