Islanders and visitors will be able to enjoy a nostalgic exhibition of Jersey’s colourful seaside history over the Liberation Day period at Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel.
Jersey Heritage’s travelling seaside exhibition is a collection of fun, local images that showcase the very best of Jersey’s beach culture over the years.
Photo captions have been translated into French and German to ensure tourists can get maximum enjoyment from the collection. The exhibition at Radisson Blu has been timed to coincide with the Liberation Day celebrations.
Christopher Peach, general manager of Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, said: "Islanders have a very special relationship with the seaside; it is such an important aspect of Jersey’s unique Island culture. The collection of vintage photos is fantastic and I am sure that locals and visitors alike will enjoy the nostalgia of being taken back in time."
Lucy Layton, Outreach Curator at Jersey Heritage, said: "We are delighted that Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel is one of the first venues to host our brand new pop-up exhibition exploring Jersey’s seaside history. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to take our display out into the community and to reach a new audience of both visitors and locals. The exhibition will be touring various Island venues over the summer including popping up at the Airport over the busy Battle of Flowers period."
The free exhibition, which will be held in Radisson Blu’s Rocco Room, will be open to hotel guests, islanders and tourists from 3rd – 16th May throughout the day.
