Jersey Post outsources printing to Mailmate

Tuesday 24 June 2014

From October this year, Jersey Post’s mailing house Promail will outsource its printing and enclosing services to local specialist printers Mailmate.

Promail offers a digital printing and mailing solution where raw data is converted into mail for local and international businesses.

The decision to outsource is in response to clients demanding a wider and more complex range of printing options and finishing techniques. It will also allow Promail to focus on data management, address and data cleansing, document design and security management.

The Head of Promail, Paul Marett, said: “Whilst not an easy decision to make, we recognise that we are unable to offer the increasingly complex range of print and finishing techniques that customers are requesting. The partnership we have created will provide a greater range of services to our customers but will also enable us to ensure all our full-time staff involved with the physical element of the process remain employed.”

Six staff will move from Beaumont to Postal Headquarters at Rue des Prés, and seven members of the production team will be offered the choice of equivalent roles with Mailmate or, if they prefer, another position at Jersey Post.  Mailmate will move from its current base in St Aubin to larger premises to accommodate the increase in workload.

The Managing Director at Mailmate, Neil Faudemer, said: “This is a really exciting partnership. With Promail’s experience in data Management and our expertise in printing and finishing we are now jointly able to offer robust and flexible technical solutions which are cutting edge in a wide range of mailing services. This is an extremely positive step in moving both businesses forward by utilising both companies’ skill sets.”
