Adam Riddell, a director at Crystal Public Relations in Jersey, has been named as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the industry’s professional body.

The CIPR announces fellowships in recognition of outstanding contributions to public relations, service to the Institute and personal achievements within the profession.

Mr Riddell first began his career in the public relations industry when he joined Crystal PR in 2006. He was appointed a Director at the agency in 2013 and achieved Chartered Status within the CIPR in 2016, the first Jersey practitioner to do so.

Commenting on receiving the award, Mr Riddell said: "It’s a real honour to have been granted a Fellowship of the CIPR, particularly alongside some really high calibre professionals from across the UK.

"Over the years, I’ve benefited a lot from the support the CIPR has afforded me in terms of professional development and I hope that as a fellow I can continue to support others on their professional journey."

Chair of the CIPR Channel Islands Group, Mark Oliphant, added: "I am delighted that Adam has received this recognition from the CIPR, which rightly reflects his commitment and contribution to the public relations industry over a number of years.

"The fact that Adam is one of growing number of Channel Islanders who have been awarded Fellowship of the CIPR also demonstrates the way in which the local communications sector is an excellent breeding ground for high standards in public relations."
