Jersey wins 'Best IFC Award' for second year

Friday 23 November 2018

Jersey has been named the top 'international finance centre' for the second year in a row.

The accolade came at the WealthBriefing GCC Awards 2018, which reward achievement and showcase those who have demonstrated top-class performance and innovation in the Gulf region.

Commenting on Jersey’s winning entry, the panel of judges said it consistently impressed "with the innovative nature of its offering in a competitive field.”

Jersey’s success comes just after Jersey Finance become the first IFC to set up an office in the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC).

Geoff Cook, Chief Executive of Jersey Finance, commented: “Jersey has a long and solid history in the Gulf region and, amidst increasing local and global regulation and compliance requirements, has been successful at promoting its credibility as a leading IFC of excellence. As such, we are proud to have been voted ‘Best International Finance Centre’ for the second year in a row and last week’s award, along with our new presence in the DIFC, is testament to our ongoing commitment to the region.”

Stephen Harris, ClearView Financial Media’s CEO, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, congratulated all the winners.

“The firms who triumphed in these awards are all worthy winners, and I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations. These awards recognise the very best operators in the private client industry, with ‘independence’, ‘integrity’ and ‘genuine insight’ the watchwords of the judging process - such that the awards truly reflect excellence in wealth management," he stated.
