More jobs are being done in Jersey than ever before, according to the latest set of official statistics.
The new stats were produced for June this year, and count the number of jobs being done, not the number of people employed - one person could do more than one job for different employers.
The States Stats Unit says that total employment was 61,660, an increase of 2.2% on the previous year, with 53,820 of those jobs coming in the private sector (an increase of 1,340 on the previous year), and 7,840 in the public sector (no change on the previous year).
11% of those jobs were on zero-hours contracts.
The figures also showed that there were 7,240 active undertakings in the private sector, 290 more than a year earlier; over half (3,880) were single-person businesses.
