The Parkinson family from St Clement have become the millionth subscriber to JT’s network - and have been given a £1,000 "tech hamper" to celebrate.
When the family visited the JT store on Saturday to add their daughter to the family’s account, they were taken by surprise by JT’s retail team who presented them with the gifts.
Tracie Parkinson said: “It was amazing, we went into JT and the next thing we knew we were being presented with the prize, it was all a bit surreal.
"It’s very exciting and our daughter is already playing with the gadgets, she thinks Christmas has come early.”
Graeme Millar, CEO of JT, said: “Many congratulations to the Parkinson family who became our millionth subscriber on Saturday, and we are thrilled to celebrate this milestone.
"This event created a really fantastic atmosphere in the store and we’re all delighted for the lucky customers who now have a selection of new devices which we hope will help make Christmas extra special this year for their family.
“As the Channel Islands’ only locally owned telecoms business we’re really proud to celebrate this major milestone in growing our customer base with someone who lives in Jersey. For a small Island based telco it’s a real achievement to reach the million mark and its extra special that we have reached this point at the end of a year, in which we have introduced a new 4G network and have had some real successes globally in growing our subscriber base."
