An English lawyer whose previous posts include working at Jersey Finance has joined independent institutional and private client service provider JTC.

William ‘Bill’ Byrne has been appointed to the job of group general counsel. It means he’ll be the organisation’s primary source of legal advice. He’ll be helping to minimise risk while enhancing technical output across the 18 jurisdictions in which JTC has a presence.

Taking up the post Mr Byrne said “I’m excited about working with the energetic and committed individuals present at all levels of the business as JTC continues to extend its international reach while remaining at the forefront of legislative and regulatory developments.”

According to the company’s CEO and chairman Nigel Le Quesne, “Bill’s exceptional appreciation of the issues affecting clients and his extensive experience of the legal financial landscape, allied to his time spent working in governmental and quasi-governmental environments will ensure his is invaluable as JTC looks to affirm its position as a leading international service provider.”
