Law firm donates 10% of fees to charity

Thursday 04 February 2016

Law firm Le Gallais & Luce will be donating 10% of its will-writing fees to the Jersey Branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind in 2016.

Partner, Marianne Shaw, Head of the Wills and Probate Department said: “Le Gallais & Luce have had a long affinity with the Jersey Branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind dating back to 1938 when the charity's first fund raising event, a golf competition held at the Royal Jersey Golf Club, was won by Mr Hedley Luce, Solicitor and one of the founding partners of the firm."

"In recent years a number of our clients have donated monies to the charity in their wills and as a result the Department has come to learn a great deal about the exceptional work that the charity undertakes on behalf of islanders with visual impairments. The wills initiative offered by Le Gallais & Luce is a great opportunity for the firm to support the local branch of the charity which provides much needed assistance to the local community.”

Ken Syvret, Chairman of the Jersey Branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind, welcomes the initiative of Le Gallais & Luce: “Every pound raised for Guide Dogs means that a visually impaired person is that much closer to the assistance, freedom and companionship which the ownership of a Guide Dog provides. We are delighted to join forces with Le Gallais & Luce."
