AFM looking for 2016 charity partners

Wednesday 18 November 2015

Amalgamated Facilities Management (AFM) has launched a new initiative aimed at trying to find charity partners for 2016.

As the Channel Islands’ largest facilities management company, AFM, which celebrated its 50th year in the Channel Islands in 2014, has over 120 staff in Jersey.

It plans to draw on its employees’ professionalism, experience and manpower to support fundraising initiatives and also to deliver practical support such as cleaning, planned maintenance or repairs for small projects.

"As a long-established business in the Channel Islands, AFM is committed to building meaningful and lasting relationships with local community groups," said Philip Le Claire, general manager at Amalgamated Facilities Management in Jersey.

"We are a large employer with an enviable range of hard and soft services capabilities at our disposal, which we hope will be of benefit to charities who need maintenance support or are thinking about project work in 2016. By opening it up and keeping the application process as simple as possible, we hope that we can encourage charities of all sizes and supporting different community groups to come forward."

Charities who are members of the Association of Jersey Charities are invited to submit a 500-word application outlining why they believe AFM should partner them in 2016. The closing date for applications will be at the end of November and the judging panel will be made up of members of staff from AFM Jersey.

"Our staff are all really engaged and are looking forward to judging the entries and getting stuck in. Throughout the year, we will also be supporting our chosen charity partners by taking part in dress down days and through offering volunteer support for events. Hopefully we can help to raise some money for the charities as well as providing practical support," added Mr Le Claire.

AFM is one of the leading offshore providers of facilities management support in the United Kingdom. The business provides its clients with the ability to concentrate on their core business activities in the knowledge that their support services are being professionally managed. Key services include electrical services, energy services, fire and security, air conditioning, facilities management, maintenance and soft services such as cleaning and recycling.

Charity partner applications should be sent to Phil.LeClaire@amalgamatedfm.com. The closing date for entry is 30th November.
