Local business get UK government boost

Cloud solution provider Calligo has been selected to be part of the government’s G Cloud 9 Framework, a procurement platform that pairs cloud-based service providers with public sector organisations.

Calligo is believed to be the first Channel Islands business to join a list of accredited suppliers under the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Cloud Support Services categories.

As a government accredited supplier, Calligo will be able to offer to the public sector a wide range of cloud based solutions.

The G Cloud 9 Framework was created in response to government services shifting online and becoming increasingly reliant upon cloud-based solution, to seek guidance on cloud solutions. The web-based platform enables government departments to find accredited cloud suppliers and to create simpler, clearer contracts for ‘the digital age.'

Julian Box, CEO of Calligo, said: “We are delighted to have achieved the G Cloud 9 Framework accreditation. It is exciting that a provider founded and headquartered in the Channel Islands can now offer the UK Public Sector access to our specialised portfolio of Cloud services via the framework.

"Calligo has been a leader in the cloud privacy space since its inception in 2012 and many of the impending GDPR objectives reinforce our established approach. The new regulation fundamentally changes how organisations need to operate, and this includes significant impact on cloud computing. As a result of our expertise in this area we are very well placed to help government organisations meet these new obligations."
