Island charities are being urged to apply to Jersey Post for a free marketing service.

Direct2Home and Direct2Business enable organisations to send promotional material straight to business or residential recipients. Direct2Home reaches more than 40,000 residential households and Direct2Business goes to 3,500 local businesses, and Jersey Post will be offering these services to one charity per quarter, free of charge.

The charity scheme launched last year and since then Sanctuary House, Jersey Hospice Care, Jersey Women’s Refuge, Jersey Alzeheimer’s Association and Autism Jersey have all had a free mail drop. Advocate Chris Renouf, Chairman of Sanctuary House said the mail drop had a huge impact, not only by spreading word their work but also in financial terms.

He said: "The Trustees of Sanctuary House were delighted with the response generated by the Jersey Post initiative which generated considerable funds to support our work in helping men in need and raised awareness of the charity generally. We would not hesitate to use this valuable service again."

There is no charge to the chosen charity for the mail drop, although they will need to meet the cost of producing the leaflet or flyer itself.  Jersey Post can offer advice on how to produce a compelling and engaging mail piece to maximise results.

Andy Jehan, Director of Postal Operations, said: "We are thrilled to be able to do this for local charities, and even more pleased that it has brought amazing results for the successful applicants last year. With such good feedback, we were in no doubt that we should carry on with the initiative in 2014 and hope it continues to reap the rewards for some very worthwhile causes."
