Legal 500 and IFLR1000 launched their annual guides to the UK's leading lawyers this month and local firms Mourant, Ogier and Appleby have been celebrated.
Both annual guides compile rankings and commentary based on feedback from peers and clients, backed up by independent research.
Mourant’s top tier position for Financial & Corporate and Investment Funds work in Jersey and Guernsey has been confirmed by IFLR1000 2021 for the tenth consecutive year.
The latest Legal 500 UK guide has also placed Mourant in Tier 1 for a total of 12 practice areas across the competitive Channel Islands market
Mourant Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said the rankings reflect a depth of bench strength, expertise and outstanding client service across the teams and practices covered.
He said: "It's been an unprecedented year, and our teams have quickly adapted to continue to advise clients seamlessly in what has been an uncertain and unusual environment for many of us.
"We're pleased to have worked on some of the most interesting, complex and high-profile mandates in the last 12 months and to see many of these profiled by the independent directories.
"The endorsements by Legal 500 and IFLR1000 are fantastic. I'd like to thank our clients for their feedback and congratulate everyone at Mourant."
47 of Mourant's Channel Island lawyers have been individually ranked by the Legal 500 UK guide, while 32 lawyers from across Mourant's jurisdictions were individually recognised by IFLR1000.

Ogier's Jersey team has also been ranked top tier across its eight core service lines in the newly released Legal 500 directory, with a record 27 individual rankings. The firm has retained top tier rankings for Financial and Corporate and Funds in IFLR 1000, with 19 individuals ranked.
The Legal 500 directory praised a wide variety of Ogier’s teams such as Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate, Dispute Resolution, Investment Funds and Private Wealth.
Jersey Practice Partner, Raulin Amy, said: "This is an exceptional set of results and a real testament to the skill and efforts of all our teams in Jersey. It's particularly pleasing to see so many new faces in the mix, and with this depth of skill and expertise at all levels, Ogier in Jersey will only continue to go from strength to strength."

A third local firm, Appleby, was also recognised in the latest IFLR1000 rankings, with nine of Appleby’s offices achieving Tier 1 and Tier 2 status.
Appleby’s offices in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Jersey, Mauritius and the Seychelles, have all achieved either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 ranking in the guide which was published on 29 September.
In addition, over thirty of Appleby’s lawyers were also recognised in this year’s guide.
