Jersey technologist appointed to BCS Council

Ronnie Isherwood has been elected to BCS Council to represent international membership and offer advice to the Trustee Board on the direction and strategy of the Chartered Institute for IT.

The role includes upholding the Royal Charter and challenging any acts or omission against the BCS, its values, ethos and charitable objectives.

The council also elects the senior volunteers including the President, Deputy President and members of the Trustee Board.

The BCS, and its subsidiary learning and development company, is responsible for industry and academic qualifications ranging from market leading business analysis to computer science degrees. There are approximately 70,000 members and an annual income of more than £30 million pounds.

Mr Isherwood founded JE3.COM as well as local events including the Techfair and the OpenROV citizen science competition for schools. A full-time technology and information security consultant, he is the former Chair of BCS Jersey.
