Luxury Jersey Hotels enjoys record growth

Wednesday 31 May 2017

Luxury Jersey Hotels is celebrating record growth in the first four months of this year.

Between January and April, the seven hotel-strong group saw room revenue increase by 13% compared to the same time in 2016 – double the average for all other Jersey hotels during the same period.

The website, too, enjoyed considerable success, having grown its audience by 51% in 2016, with website visitors making 5,500 booking enquires totalling over 23,000 room nights.

January visits have also increased by 72% compared with last year.

The news comes as Luxury Jersey Hotels this year welcomes a new member into the fold, St Brelade’s Bay Hotel, which boasts 82 rooms.

Together the group now represents 643 hotel rooms - 18% of all within the Island, and nearly half of all four and five-star accommodation.

David Greaves, General Manager of St Brelade’s Bay Hotel, commented that he was “delighted” that the beachside resort had joined the ranks of Luxury Jersey Hotels.

“The success that the group’s members continue to enjoy shows that working together to strengthen and promote Jersey’s luxury offering is making a real difference,” he said.

Patrick Burke, Chairman of Luxury Jersey Hotels and the Owner of the Atlantic Hotel, welcomed the new recruit, adding: “Thanks to the support that we have received from the Tourism Development Fund, Visit Jersey and our marketing partners, we have gone from strength to strength over the past seven years. It is very rewarding to see that the effort we have invested in attracting new market segments to Jersey is starting to pay off for the luxury sector.”
