Tuesday 09 January 2024

A banking professional who has worked in a range of locations around the globe has returned to the Channel Islands to take up the role of Head of Global Private Banking for HSBC.

Anthony Hingley, who has worked for HSBC for 25 years, will be responsible for growing the private banking offering in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Mr Hingley has worked in the Global Private Banking division for most of his time with HSBC, including time in the UK, Geneva, Dubai, Qatar, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as the Channel Islands. Prior to his most recent role as Managing Director, Global India, MENA and Europe, based in Singapore, he was Head of Trust and Fiduciary Services, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

HSBC’s Chief Executive for the Channel Islands, Warwick Long, said he was pleased to welcome Mr Hingley back to the Channel Islands.

He said: “Anthony’s global client experience and deep relationship network across our core markets, combined with his knowledge of the local market, will add huge value as we continue to support the growth of our business, which remains strategically important for the group both across Europe and globally.”

Mr Hingley added: “We have a fantastic team in place in the Islands who continue to deliver exceptional service, and I’m excited by our potential as we look forward to 2024 and beyond. Our focus remains on growing and enhancing our private banking proposition in the islands, leveraging our international connectivity and working closely with colleagues both here and across our global network.”

Mr Hingley has taken up the position formerly held by Kevin Herbert, who has retired from HSBC after a career spanning more than 35 years.
