Ravenscroft has appointed Angela Samson a compliance officer to manage regulatory compliance issues within the business.
Mrs Samson's new role follows a career that has spanned the UK police service and many years in the finance sector in Jersey.
Mrs Samson will serve as Ravenscroft Jersey’s money laundering reporting officer (MLRO) and money laundering compliance officer (MLCO). She also holds distinctions in the ICA International AML Diploma and the ICA International Financial Crime Diploma.
Commenting on her appointment, Mrs Samson said: "Ravenscroft is a growing company, and I’m looking forward to be involved in moving the business forward. I’ll be bringing my skills and experience as an MLRO and MLCO in a large organisation to my role."
Mrs Samson, who is married with two children, began her career as a police officer in the Wiltshire force. Upon moving to Jersey in 1990, she worked as an investment dealer before moving into the trust and company sector. She joins Ravenscroft after eight years at RBC including six within the Anti-money laundering department.
Haydn Taylor, Managing Director of Ravenscroft Jersey said: "The team in Jersey has more than doubled in size in the last 12 months and that has led to a considerable increase in new business and the need for a dedicated full-time compliance officer in the island working closely with our Guernsey compliance team. With her wealth of
experience, Angela will help Ravenscroft continue to meet its commitment to the highest standards of regulatory compliance and help drive the business forward."
