The States of Jersey Development Company has announced the appointment of its first board apprentice, and a new Non-Executive Director.
Carolyn Dwyer will be joining the board as an NED after approval was given by the States Assembly last month.
Until recently, Ms Dwyer had worked as Director of Built Environment for the City of London.
Alongside this, Fiona Smith, who is currently Head of Business Management and Governance for the Government's Economy Department, will be joining the Company’s Board meetings over the next 12 months as a board apprentice.
JDC Chair Paul Masterton said: “We are delighted to welcome both Carolyn and Fiona to the Board. Carolyn’s 34 years’ of experience in ‘place making’ and regeneration will bring a significant contribution to the company’s plans, in particular on the Southwest St Helier Visionary Framework.
"We are also delighted to support the Government of Jersey’s ‘I WILL’ programme which offers leadership opportunities for women in the public sector. We hope Fiona will benefit, gaining new skills and insights during her apprenticeship with us and we are looking forward to her active contribution to board discussions”.
