A specialist with over two decades of financial experience has been recruited to head Hawksford's Governance Risk and Compliance team.
Based in Jersey, Eric Dolan (pictured) will take on responsibility for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Leading 16 other specialists, Mr Dolan will be responsible for maintaining and updating the company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy.
He joins from Sanne Group, where he was previously Risk Director for two years. However, his career started in Ernst and Young in Jersey and London, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then went on to work for the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) for nine years in a series of roles, including as Deputy Director of Supervisory Operations, as well as a banking examiner.
Mr Dolan said that it was an "exciting time" to join the company, adding: "Effective ERM provides a quality assurance mark for clients that, as a company, we adopt a rigorous approach to risk management. My approach is to encourage pragmatic, risk-based decisions across the organisation. No two clients are the same and it is important to apply clear thinking on an individual basis to ensure that Hawksford, on behalf of its clients, stays on the right side of regulations and its own risk appetite, whilst supporting business growth. Hawksford has a solid compliance foundation and I am looking forward to working with the team."
Hawksford CEO, Michel Van Leeuwen, commented: "Eric’s impressive balance of industry and regulatory experience will be a major advantage for Hawksford in ensuring our risk and compliance processes remain robust. His analytical approach and understanding of risk and compliance will provide strong guidance across the business to ensure we make pragmatic, considered and confident decisions every time."
