Camerons has appointed a new Managing Director as part of a planned reorganisation of the Garenne Group leadership team.
Simon Silbernagl’s promotion to the post from within the business allows Camerons’ current managing director Marc Burton to assume the role of chief executive.
Mr Burton replaces Martin Holmes, who will remain on the board in a non-executive capacity.
These promotions allow both Mr Burton and Mr Holmes to assume additional responsibilities within the Garenne Group.
Mr Silbernagl is in his second period of employment at Camerons, after joining originally in 2004 as a site manager. After a period of working away in the UK and Far East, he re-joined Camerons in August 2012 to take up the position of operations director.
Mr Burton said: "Simon and I have worked together for a number of years and have worked hard since 2012 to continue to develop both Camerons and the staff for the opportunities that lie ahead. This is a significant opportunity to allow the team at Camerons to grow and develop further to meet the needs of our clients.
"Simon is an excellent and experienced construction professional and has made a significant and positive impact since his return to Camerons and will be very well suited to his new role."
Mr Silbernagl said: "This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to leading the team here at Camerons and building on the reputation which we have developed in recent years. We have invested significantly in developing our home grown talent and we plan to continue this to enhance our technical and delivery capability for both our current projects and future opportunities."
Directors Olivier Champetier, Rob Mills and Peter Lawrence will continue to provide support to Mr Silbernagl.
