Promotions at PwC Channel Islands

Monday 04 September 2023

PwC has added to its senior leadership team with two new Partners and five Directors.

This is part of a larger promotion wave over the summer, with PwC Channel Islands promoting a total of 60 employees, including 13 new Senior Managers and 40 Managers.

James de Veulle and Mark Hunter have been promoted to Partner. They are both based in Jersey and started at PwC as graduate trainee accountants.

James de Veulle, former President of the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants, manages PwC's banking practice in the Channel Islands, overseeing non-audit services and providing audit services to clients in various industries.

Advisory Partner Mark Hunter specialises in operations using technology, and has experience in regulatory transformation and financial crime.

Lisa McClure, Partner and Leader of the Jersey office, commended the recently appointed partners.

"...Each have significant expertise, deliver exceptional quality and client service, innovate, inspire others and both demonstrate an ability to foster dynamic, collaborative relationships. These qualities mean they are perfectly placed to play a key role in helping us achieve our overall growth strategy," she said.

In addition to the new Partners, five individuals have been promoted to the position of Director.

Volodymyr Kazanskyi, who has an MA in Physics and Finance, has experience in IT, risk assessments and control assurance for global banks and financial institutions.

Elisha Backhouse, an External Audit Director, started her career with PwC in Guernsey shortly after completing her A-levels and specialises in venture capital and private equity funds.

After graduating from university, David Copestick joined the Guernsey office as another External Audit Director.

Amy Pickering, also an External Audit Director, serves as the ESG Assurance Lead, advising on ESG and climate initiatives and working with private equity clients.

Omer Tariq, a Chartered Accountant with international audit experience, focuses on alternative investment funds and insurance.

Ms McClure commented: "Each of these are outstanding individuals who regularly demonstrate their invaluable contribution to the firm. They thoroughly deserve these milestone promotions."
