New Treasury Manager at Ravenscroft

Thursday 01 December 2016

Ravenscroft has appointed a new Treasury Manager with responsibility for Jersey and Guernsey.

Garry Beardshall, who has 30 years’ treasury experience working for a cross-section of financial institutions covering cash and derivative products, moves to the company from Brevan Howard where he was Head of Treasury.

Haydn Taylor, MD of Ravenscroft's Jersey business, said: "The Ravenscroft team in both Islands continues to grow and five new stockbrokers have joined the Jersey team in the last five months alone. That growth means we are taking on more and more clients and managing and advising on an increasing number of portfolios. Cash is an integral part of any investment portfolio and this newly created role ensures that our clients’ cash holdings continue to be managed accordingly."

Mr Beardshall, who was educated at Hautlieu School in Jersey, will be responsible for treasury and managing client cash held by the group. He will also ensure the optimisation and risk diversification of client cash.

Mr Taylor said: "Ravenscroft is committed to working hard and pressing forward with growth plans. Our new stockbrokers are very experienced and have strong reputations locally and we hoped that it would lead to a substantial increase in business. It’s exceeded expectations and having Garry on board will only strengthen our offering."

Prior to working at Brevan Howard, Mr Beardshall, who is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, spent 12 years as Treasurer of BNP Paribas SA Jersey. He also worked in London and Zurich as a proprietary off balance sheet trader for a number of years prior to moving back to Jersey.
