Nigel Le Quesne, Group Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of JTC, has been named Global Director of the Year in the sixth annual IoD Jersey Director of the Year Awards.

Having been shortlisted for the award last month, the win was announced at a gala ceremony and dinner held at the Hotel de France on Friday 24 April, hosted by writer, broadcaster, former MP and Government Whip Gyles Brandreth.

Nigel’s achievement reflects the success JTC has had on the international stage over the past year under his leadership, including the strengthening of its global footprint and workforce across its network of 17 jurisdictions worldwide.

The independent judging panel commended Nigel’s commitment to growing JTC over more than two decades and, in particular, recognised his role as the architect of the company’s unique shared ownership culture and the highly successful ‘local to global’ growth strategy.

The awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of business leaders in Jersey and recognise excellence in the wider business community. Other awards on the night were presented to the leading directors in a number of other small, medium and large organisations in the public and charity sectors, as well as young directors.

Nigel said: “As CEO it has been a privilege to lead the development of the Group for over 25 years but I very much see this award as one for JTC as a whole and the excellent colleagues both past and present I have had the pleasure of working with."

As a result of this win, Nigel will now automatically be put forward for the UK National Director of the Year finals, with winners announced in October 2015.
