Radisson Blu invites Islanders to experience flying a Red Arrow

Wednesday 09 September 2015

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to fly a Red Arrow? Radisson Blu is inviting Islanders to find out on Thursday.

To coincide with the Jersey Air Display, Vizuality Studio will install its innovative virtual-reality technology in the hotel. Islanders over the age of 13 are invited to try out the simulator in return for a donation to Radisson Blu’s charity partner, Mind Jersey.

The eight-by-eight metre motion studio will offer the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying their own Red Arrow jet plane, providing Islanders with a unique way to experience the air display.

Vizuality Studio, which launched in Jersey in June, brings together the latest virtual and augmented reality technologies to create lifelike virtual experiences such as driving an F1 car or riding a rollercoaster.

Fergus O’Donovan, Radisson Blu general manager, said: "We are offering a unique experience that brings a modern approach to this traditional event. It’s fantastic that Jersey is able to offer these ground-breaking technologies and experiences and I hope Islanders will take the opportunity to fly their own red arrow."

The red arrow simulator will be available for use between 11am and 7:00pm. The hotel is also serving a buffet lunch on for the event, which is priced at £54.95 per person and can be booked by calling the hotel on 01534 671100.
