Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel has raised £1,300 for Mind Jersey, its charity partner for 2015.
The hotel has also pledged to continue to support the mental health charity once again in 2016.
The money has been raised through a number of charitable initiatives such as bag packing in Grande Marche as part of Responsible Business Action Month and an optional £1 on bill donation, with 50 pence going to Mind Jersey and the other 50 pence supporting the Radisson Group’s chosen charity, World Childhood Foundation.
Head chef Vincent Duffy has also created a number of special dishes for the Waterfront Restaurant’s menu with a donation going towards the charity, and the housekeeping team challenged guests and colleagues to beat their record time for making up a bed.
Radisson Blu general manager Fergus O’Donovan said: "At the start of the year, the Radisson Blu team was excited about the prospect of raising a decent sum of money to support Mind Jersey, particularly as all of the money raised in the island directly benefits the local community. The money raised will go towards helping this important charity to continue to raise the profile of its services and initiatives, and offer support to those with mental health issues and their families."
Executive director of Mind Jersey James Le Feuvre said: "We are grateful for the continuing support that Radisson Blu is providing through fundraising efforts such as this. We rely heavily on the generosity of local businesses and associations and Radisson Blu has brought energy, enthusiasm and innovation in their efforts to support us.
"We look forward to continuing to work with them again in 2016 as their support enables us to continue providing advice, support and practical help for those – and their families – experiencing mental health problems."
Sven Wiltink, food and drink manager at Radisson Blu, and his engineering colleagues recently presented a cheque for £1,300 to James Le Feuvre, executive director of Mind Jersey.
