The Lloyds Bank Foundation in the Channel Islands has announced that six Channel Island charities have received £1,000 each in the regional Charity Achievement Awards.

Representatives will travel to London in October to attend the national final with an opportunity to win up to £10,000.

The Lloyds Bank Foundation Charity Achievement Awards were created this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of all Lloyds Bank Foundations in the British Isles and to further recognise the amazing and life changing work of small and medium sized charities.

The Channel Island winners and their corresponding categories are as follows:

Brighter Futures Jersey in “Against the Odds”

Guernsey Disability Alliance in “Championing Change”

Jersey Employment Trust in “Enterprising Collaboration”

Creative Learning in Prison in “Outstanding Impact”

Every Child Our Future in “Valuing Volunteers”

Headway Guernsey in “Unsung Hero,”

The UK final awards ceremony takes place at the historic Lloyds Bank headquarters in Lombard Street in the City on October 8. The Channel Islands charities will compete against charities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland with six overall winners to be announced in each category.  At the ceremony all applicants will be eligible to win the grand prize of “Foundations Charity of the Year” and a £10,000 award.

John Hutchins, Executive Director, Lloyds Bank Foundation in the Channel Islands, said: “I am delighted for all the charities concerned that they have received this additional recognition for the hard work they do on a day-to-day basis to help make a difference in islanders’ lives. It will be a unique experience this autumn for not only the charities, but the Foundations as well, and it will be exciting to see the local finalists’ work showcased on a larger, national scale.”
