With the installation of the last mobile site in St Brelade, Sure has successfully completed the first pan-Channel Island 4G network, enabling Sure customers to use 4G services wherever they are in the islands.
Sure partnered with Huawei to deliver the 4G network whilst simultaneously installing new 2G and 3G networks, giving Sure customers access to the most up to date mobile networks in the islands.
“Our engineers have worked very hard during the past two months to deliver these new Sure mobile networks throughout the Channel Islands,” said Graham Hughes, CEO of Sure in Jersey.
“Many of our customers have already experienced the speed of 4G mobile data and the reports we have received confirm that 4G really is the leap forward that makes mobile data services far more usable than they have been before.
“Importantly, we are not charging a premium for 4G data services and have designed a range of excellent data price plans that ensures that 4G is affordable and accessible throughout the Channel Islands.”
Sure customers wanting to access 4G data services will need a 4G compatible handset.
