Top marks for trust accountant

Thursday 27 October 2016

A trust accountant from Alex Picot Trust has been named top Jersey student for 2016 by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

At the annual Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants dinner, Amy Brown was presented with a trophy by ACCA for achieving the highest academic marks in the final papers of the ACCA qualification.

Miss Brown joined Alex Picot in 2011 from Jersey College for Girls and commenced the Foundations in Accountancy before moving onto the ACCA qualification, studying through BPP Professional Education. She made the move from Alex Picot’s Audit department to the Alex Picot Trust team in July 2015.

ACCA’s director of learning Dr Mary Bishop said: “Many congratulations from all at ACCA to Amy for such an outstanding achievement. We commend her dedication and commitment to passing the exams, and for being named top ACCA Jersey student. It’s such a delight to see someone succeed in such a fantastic way, and we all wish Amy the very best for what I am sure will be a very bright future.”

Alex Picot Trust Director Chris Cotillard said“Huge congratulations to Amy for passing her exams with flying colours, we’re delighted to see that her hard work and commitment to her personal development has paid off, and gaining the top marks from ACCA is the icing on the cake.  This is a fantastic personal achievement for Amy and we are all really proud of her success in the exams.

“As a long-established Jersey trust company we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and a key part of that is supporting our people to gain professional qualifications. Each time an employee passes an examination it bolsters the professionalism of our team collectively and encourages a culture of learning and development.”
