For local furniture craftsman Simon Bellwood, business life started out in 2007 in a garage, where he shaped wood into one-of-a-kind, chemical-free creations.
Now, one decade later, he’s celebrating Jersey Oak’s unbe-leaf-able transformation into a successful Genuine Jersey business by, quite appropriately, branching out into a whole new store space.
The company is now set in a 3,500ft lifestyle showroom at Rue des Marettes in St Martin, where the original creations sit alongside other Genuine Jersey crafts, such as photography by Georgie Ng, paintings by Jools Holt and Mike Power and illustrations from Stephen Davies.

Speaking about the new retail location, Mr Bellwood commented: “We wanted to capture that high quality, special feel at our showroom to reflect the products we sell. It was important that we found a rural location, out of town, as it creates a relaxing and engaging environment where we can service each and every customer and their individual specific requirements.”
Genuine Jersey Chief Executive John Garton praised the 10-year-old craft venture, stating: “There is great cause to celebrate the success of Jersey Oak and we are encouraged by the work of Simon in keeping Jersey produce at the forefront of his business, showcasing the work of other local artists and Genuine Jersey members.”
