Two more Channel Islands PR professionals achieve Chartered status

Thursday 25 February 2016

Two further public relations professionals in the Channel Islands have achieved Chartered Status with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Adam Riddell, Director at Crystal PR in Jersey, and Chris Chilton, Account Director at Orchard PR in Guernsey, both successfully completed the CIPR’s first Chartership Assessment Day of 2016.

They were two of 15 industry professionals from across the UK who were rigorously assessed by experts on their skills, knowledge and competencies in ethics, strategy and leadership. The assessors were led by Emma Leech, Director of Marketing & Advancement at Loughborough University.

Currently Chair of the CIPR Channel Islands Group and Chair of the IoD Jersey’s PR sub-committee, Adam Riddell leads on PR strategy for a number of major international financial services businesses and public sector organisations, spanning the Channel Islands, London and a range of international finance centres globally. He commented:

“Public relations practitioners are working at the heart of organisations to help shape their future and as such it is vital they have the right knowledge and expertise underpinned by an ability to act ethically and with integrity. These are the professional standards the CIPR stands for. I am delighted to have achieved this status and hopefully we will see a number of other PR professionals in the Channel Islands do the same this year.”

Last year, the CIPR announced its aim to increase the number of Chartered professionals in public relations from approximately 50 (since its introduction in 2008) to more than 250 over the next 24 months.
