Floats will be competing for a new award on Battle Day next Thursday and it’s down to you to vote for what floats your boat.
JT have set up a new text voting system and you can have your say on who should win this year’s Spectators Award.
You can text the number of your favourite float to a number listed in the Festival's programme. You'll have one chance to vote during the daytime parade.
The idea is to bring the event that dates back more than a hundred years more up to date and make it more interactive for the crowds.
JT’s Head of Marketing, Brand & Distribution Tamara O’Brien said: “We have been proud to support The Battle of Flowers over the years and more recently introduce technology to enable the organisers to make it more relevant to today’s audience. It remains as much of an important community event today as it did 100 years ago, bringing islanders closer together through passion and camaraderie.
“The event is at the very heart of Jersey’s summer celebrations, and we are pleased that we can bring a new dimension by delivering an interactive element for the audience.”
Event Director Jackie Donald said: “We are keen to introduce some changes to The Battle of Flowers to keep it relevant, whilst at the same time maintaining it’s tradition. The text voting will make it more engaging for a younger audience, and we are positive it will modernise the event. Thanks to JT managing this element of the event for us.”
