Online booking launched as Waves celebrates 500th flight

Friday 06 April 2018

New flight provider Waves, which recently flew its 500th flight, has launched an online booking system to allow customers to book flights online by choosing the destination, date and time of desired travel.

It comes after the airline was granted an Air Transport Licence to fly between Guernsey and Jersey, and Guernsey and Alderney.

At the moment, individual seat sales and charters are available between Guernsey and Jersey but charters only are available between Guernsey and Alderney. All options are available online.

Jim Rouse, Waves CTO, said: “This week we have launched online bookings and received an incredible amount of support and positive feedback. The timing has been great; we wanted to hold back the launch until we knew our customers, understood the local demand and spent time working ‘behind the scenes’ with the custom-built technology. We have used the last few months to listen to the passengers, the public and our staff to ensure this process is as smooth as possible. It’s another exciting step for the business.”

Liam Paterson, Head of Customer Experience, added: “It’s been a very successful start to the online process. This week, we have flown our 500th flight since commercial operations began. The customer feedback is great, with many enjoying the personal service that Waves offer and commenting on the ease and functionality of the new online system.”
