The Jersey Scout Band celebrated its 50th birthday quietly last year due to covid.
Over the years they have performed in multiple venues including Disneyland Paris and Windsor Castle for royalty.
They regularly attend the Fête de Fleur in France and have been to Guernsey's Battle of Flowers, as well as our own here in Jersey.
Joining the band is an excellent way to represent your island as well as gain multiple skills in music and teamwork.
You no longer have to be a Scout or Guide - membership of the band is open to anyone aged 8 and upwards.
There are four sections: the trumpets, the bell lyre, drums and symbols as well as band major.
Anyone can join and they will be offered tuition in whichever section they desire, meaning there is no need to be able to read music.
You will also be taught how to march and march in formation, as well as be given a uniform.
See what being part of the Channel Islands' youngest marching band is all about - come and join us Thursdays from 18:30 to 19:30 at the Kenneth Faucon Memorial Hall, Rue des Pres in St. Saviour.
