Coutts continues to invest in its International Trust Business With Two Significant Industry Specialist Appointments

Coutts is pleased to announce two pivotal senior appointments as it continues to invest in its International Trust Business.

Debbie Sebire joins Coutts on March 1 as Non-Executive Director of Coutts Trustees (Jersey). In her previous role as a Director for the Jersey Financial Services Commission, Debbie was instrumental in designing and implementing regulatory techniques and a practical framework for supervising both individual key persons and trust companies, following the introduction of trust company regulation. Prior to this, she was a Director of Cititrust (Jersey) Limited, establishing and administering high net-worth structures.

Naomi Rive, joins Coutts as Chief Trust Officer on April 1. Naomi is currently a Partner and Head of International Private Clients and Trusts at law firm Appleby in Jersey, and a Director of their Trust business, responsible for advising on all aspects of trust law and foundation, wealth and estate planning issues. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1999 and is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey.

At Coutts, Naomi will join the Coutts Trustees (Jersey) Board and lead the development of trust policies and standards.  Working closely with Martin Hall, Managing Director, Naomi will play a significant role in reshaping the international trust proposition.

Both Debbie Sebire and Naomi Rive will be based in Jersey.

Her extensive experience in the Jersey Trust regulatory environment and the international marketplace will be a great asset to the business. Debbie’s independence will also be a valuable addition to the Coutts Trustees proposition and growth strategy.      

I also welcome Naomi who is highly respected in the international wealth structuring marketplace and brings significant industry knowledge to our trust Company. Both appointments strengthen our International Trust business even further and will enable us to capitalise on future opportunities as we continue to invest in and build our flagship business in Jersey.” 

This announcement follows the appointments to the International Trust Business of John Etheridge as Head of Product in December 2013 and Fiona Whitehead as Head of New Business who joined earlier this year.
