Two of the Island’s top hotels are thrilled to be soaking up the news that their award winning spas have retained their four bubble stars in the prestigious Good Spa Guide.
Plus the AA four Silver Star L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa also took the title of ‘Best Spa Hotel for Families’ in the Readers’ Choice National Award sponsored by Nimue Skin at the prestigious Good Spa Guide 2016 Awards in partnership with Aromatherapy Associates.
The National Awards were voted for by the public with over 72,000 spa-lovers voting for their favourite spas in eight national categories.
Established in 2010 The Good Spa Guide Awards 2016 in partnership with Aromatherapy Associates showcases excellence in the UK spa market. Winners of the eight National Awards and the eleven Regional Awards were announced at the ‘spa-kling’ ceremony presented by Pete Cohen at the Spa Life UK Gala Dinner at the Telford International Centre on the 15th November 2016.
The Good Spa Guide’s “spa spies” recently enjoyed some R&R while carrying out a rigorous review at both the L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa and St Helier’s AA five star Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, assessing both on their cleanliness, tidiness, customer service, standard of facilities and treatments.
The Guide’s four bubbles is the mark of a great spa and the “spa spies” said they loved “bubbling in the hot tub gazing up over the horizon”, “snuggling up under a blanket in the deep sleep relaxation room” and walking off a “sumptuous cream tea” at the L’Horizon Beach Hotel.
L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa, which was awarded four silver stars by the AA for their superior level of quality and high standards, has a stylish spa and health club, with one double and five single treatment rooms, relaxation lounge, a unique sleep room, manicure and pedicure area along with a well equipped gym, an indoor 15 metre pool, a spa pool, plus sauna and steam room.
Commenting on the accolade of ‘Best spa for families’ L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa Health Club Manager Matt Riley said: “We are thrilled to be crowned as Best Spa for Families, who are of course a very important market segment for our business.”
Going on to discuss the review overall he said, “We’re delighted to have scored so highly again this year in the Guide that lists the very best spas in the UK. Four bubbles are only given to those who provide guests with an excellent spa experience with great facilities, luxurious treatments and lavish lunches and we work hard to make sure we tick all those boxes.”
The Spa at Grand Jersey has a range of VIP, twin and single treatment rooms, an indoor heated pool and experience shower and aims to cocoon its guests in comfort during their visit.
The “spies” described the Grand Jersey’s Hotel pool and heat facilities as “fun”, the treatments “very good” and the relaxation room as “fabulously decadent”. They also praised the hotel’s “friendly, helpful service”, its “excellent food” and the fact they had a huge beach so close to walk off the “delicious Jersey fare”.
Commenting on the review, Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa Manager Jo Bullock said, “We always endeavour to ensure our clients make the most of their precious ‘me-time’.
