Mourant Ozannes Hong Kong has announced the appointment of finance and restructuring specialist Claire Fulton to the global partnership, bringing the offshore law firm's total number of partners to 59.

Claire Fulton joined Mourant Ozannes from Hogan Lovells in 2014 and is based in the firm's Hong Kong office. Claire is a highly regarded finance and restructuring lawyer who specialises in advising clients on realising value in distressed situations, including security enforcements, special situations, debt restructurings and voluntary liquidations. She is regularly approached to advise on offshore statutory merger regimes and has significant experience advising clients on a broad range of banking and finance transactions including cross-border leveraged finance buy-outs, public to private acquisitions, bilateral and syndicated loans, real estate finance and structured finance.

Mourant Ozannes Hong Kong Managing Partner, Paul Christopher, said: "Claire's appointment to partner is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to her clients, the firm and its people. Her promotion also underlines our firm's strategy of continued investment in the Asia region, and adds strength and diversity in practice areas where we have seen demand from clients. I am delighted to welcome Claire to the partnership and to congratulate her on reaching this milestone in her career."

The news coincides with Mourant Ozannes' 5th anniversary of its top-tier Asia practice, during which time it has more than quadrupled in size, to become the fastest growing offshore law firm in Asia at this time. In the last 12 months, the Hong Kong office's headcount has more than doubled and it has bolstered its Mandarin capabilities with four new Mandarin speaking hires in the last six months alone.  In August the firm relocated to new office space located in the heart of Central Hong Kong in order to accommodate this expansion.

Across the firm's network of offices, five additional new partners have been announced in this year's global round of promotions.
