At their recent AGM, the JeCC elected a new board for the forthcoming year.  Martin Holmes remains chairman for a further 12 months and the new committee comprises the following:

  • Steve Jacobs - Company Secretary
  • Tom Hart - Treasurer
  • Ian Wilson - Chairman, Membership & Communications Sub-Committee
  • Marc Burton - Chairman, Education & Training Sub-Committee
  • Nigel Blandin - Chairman, Health & Safety Sub-Committee

The board is supported by a further 10 members all of whom are working towards the goal of a collective voice for the Construction Industry in Jersey.

Despite it being a challenging year for the Industry, there were many positive aspects not least in the record number of entrants in certain categories of the Jersey Construction Awards.  The sell out event at the Hotel de France in September showcased the work being carried out by the Construction Industry and the contribution that it makes to the local economy.

Martin Holmes, Chairman commented: “The JeCC continues to liaise with Government on various issues and is in constant contact with a number of departments as part of the Council’s commitment to represent the views of it’s members.”

There is also a charitable arm to the Council, namely The Brick Foundation.  This year’s chosen charity for the Construction Week Challenge was the refurbishment of an outdoor area at Maison des Landes that saw members of the Council come together and offer practical as well as financial help to the project.
