The team at Jacksons were delighted to see around 200 local runners back on the road again racing to help islanders affected by brain injuries.

The third Headway Jacksons 10k which started and finished on Les Quennevais cycle track on 27th June raised a fantastic £5,500 for the charity which suffered devastating losses due to COVID 19.

The event, sponsored by the local motor dealership saw a number of PB’s smashed in both the 10k and 3k kids fun run and all those taking part went home with a performance tee shirt and bespoke medal.

Commenting on the event, Andrew Searle, General Manager at Jacksons said, “We were so pleased to see so many out running and enjoying this race once again.  Our team is really proud to have been able to support this race for such a fantastic local charity which provides essential services including a range of physical and cognitive rehabilitation programmes for islanders living with brain injuries.”

Bryce Alford, Fundraising and Events Manager at Headway Jersey said, “Jacksons once again provided tremendous support, helping to both organise and ensure the race was a great success. We had some really top-class runners signed up and it was also great to see so many runners taking on the challenge for the first time.”

“At Headway we are always wondering where the next £1 is going to come from to keep the service going and this year’s run will go the extra mile to help us continue our life changing services.”

Headway Jersey has over 150 survivors of brain injury registered with them as members and up to 70 who access their services on a weekly basis.
