23 January 2023 – Employees at VG, one of Jersey’s largest independent providers of trust, corporate and fund administration solutions, have raised more than £14,500 for Jersey Hospice since the start of its financial year in May.

A total of £14,545 was raised through a range of initiatives dreamt up by the company’s fundraising and marketing teams in celebration of the firm’s 40th anniversary - a sum that surpasses any previous fundraising efforts.

One of the flagship events which buoyed fundraising efforts was the “VG Quiz of the Decades” in November which saw a team from Jersey Hospice and over 20 valued partners of VG – including legal, accountancy and recruitment firms – assemble teams of trivia masters to flaunt their cerebral prowess across a spectrum of trivia spanning the four Decades that comprise VG's history. The evening was a true celebration of community spirit with just over £4000 being raised for Jersey Hospice and Collas Crill being crowned winners!

In another successful initiative as part of the firm's festive celebrations, the fundraising team rounded up a range of raffle prizes donated by key suppliers which saw VG staff purchasing tickets for their chance to win prizes on offer, ranging from wine hampers hampers and restaurant vouchers to spa experiences and hotel stays.

Commenting on the significant sum raised, Iain Mason, Managing Director of VG, said: "It has been a busy year for our team of fundraisers; they have worked relentlessly to cook up ways to inspire Team VG and our partners to part with their hard-earned pennies. Through smaller initiatives such as football cards, bake sales, treasure hunts, beach bingo and ‘Florescent Fridays’ to larger scale fundraisers, it has become a truly collegiate effort to support the critical work of Jersey Hospice in our island community.”

Mike Palfreman, CEO, Jersey Hospice, added: "We were delighted to see the breadth of community support for Hospice and thankful to VG for putting on a great event. Partnering with the VG team comes at a time when we are both celebrating our 40th anniversaries. We have built the foundations of a long-term relationship with VG - without their incredible fundraising efforts, we couldn’t make a real difference to people in our community with a life limiting illness, helping them to receive specialist care at Hospice."
