From a charity 10km walk, to a comic opera and a cider festival, this weekend's calendar is full of opportunities to do good and feel good.

Each week, Bailiwick Wellbeing will be sharing a selection of sporty and community local events for you to get involved in.

Here are the top picks...

Starlight Walk

When? Saturday 15 October – 17:00 to 21:30

Where? Starting and finishing at Waterfront Gardens, above Waterfront Car Park.

What? Philip’s Footprints’ annual 10km walk is taking place this weekend to raise awareness for Baby Loss Awareness Week (9 to 15 October) and raise funds to support bereaved parents who lose a baby or child.

La Faîs’sie d’Cidre

When? Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October – 10:00 to 17:00

Where? Hamptonne Country Life Museum

What? Organised by Jersey Heritage, La Faîs’sie d’Cidre is the celebration of cider making traditions. Come and support the volunteers at Hamptonne as they work in the traditional way with horse power, to bring Jersey’s rich heritage of cider production to life.

Cry Charity Rideout

When? Saturday 15 October – 11:00

Where? Start from the Esplanade car park

What? Students from Beaulieu have organised a rideout for Cry Charity for the Gate of Hope cause. Participants are invited to arrive promptly for the start with a full tank of fuel and some change to make donations to the cause.

Jersey Bulls v Balham

When? Saturday 15 October – 15:00

Where? Springfield Stadium

What? After a 7-0 victory against Sheerwater FC, the Bulls are returning to Springfield Stadium this weekend to face Balham.

Cox and Box

When? Saturday 15 October – 19:00

Where? 16 New Street

What? Enjoy Bernand and Sullivan’s one-act comic opera, first staged in 1867, in the splendour of the Victorian Club Room at 16 New Street. Sergeant Bouncer, an old soldier, has a scheme to get double rent from a single room: by day he lets it to Mr Box, a printer who is out all night; and by night to Mr Cox, a hatter who works all day. Bouncer’s plan works well…until Mr Cox is, unexpectedly, given a day’s holiday. The compact cast of three creates an intimate and amusing experience.

Ticket price includes a welcome drink on arrival. Proceeds will be shared between the National Trust for Jersey and the Jersey Gilbert and Sullivan Society.

Discover Scuba Diving in the sea

When? Saturday 15 October – 11:00 to 13:00

Where? Bouley Bay Dive Centre

What? A programme designed for complete beginners to give them a taste of scuba diving in the sea. The session will last around two hours and will be conducted in Bouley Bay with qualified PADI Instructors.
