FCG, the Guernsey-based parent company of the UK insurance provider 1st CENTRAL, has strengthened its senior management with three significant promotions.
Paul Torode joined FCG last year as head of managed services and security at the FCG Guernsey development hub. He has been promoted to group information security officer to manage FCG’s complex information and cyber security responsibilities. He boasts more than 19 years’ experience in security, IT, data centre and network operations.
Chris Corbin, FCG’s head of technical change, has been promoted to the new role of head of customer service (technology); his new role will ensure group IT delivers continued excellent levels of customer service. Chris will also have responsibility for rapid turnaround of live fixes to the fully-bespoke, Guernsey-built insurance platform, Focus.
Guy Oliver has been appointed to the strategically important role of group head of IT operations, where he will assume overall responsibility for product development and production support. Mr Oliver has spent the majority of his career working for insurance software providers in most aspects of general insurance and has held many senior management roles looking after business divisions and large client implementation programmes in the UK and North America. Since January 2016, Guy has been leading the development of the new Focus Claims system which will be going live towards the end of this year.
Chief information officer, John Davison, said the raft of promotions demonstrated FCG’s commitment to continuing to push the envelope in FinTech.
