Airtel boosts broadband to support remote work

Friday 20 March 2020

Airtel-Vodafone has increased data allowances on all its 4G home broadband plans to support its customers who are working remotely during the corona virus outbreak.

The 50GB extra allowance will automatically be applied to home broadband accounts at no extra cost, starting from today and for an initial period of one month.

The announcements follows an agreement between local telecom operators to increase all fibre broadband connections for free as more islanders work from home and self-isolate.

Tony Moretta, CEO Digital Jersey said: "We are grateful for the swift support of Airtel-Vodafone with this initiative and it’s great to see a strong mobile broadband proposition alongside our fixed fibre network."

Sid Ahlawat, CEO of Airtel-Vodafone added: "We are doing everything we can to help support customers to work remotely during this difficult period and we have moved quickly to implement this to help the many thousands of our customers using our wireless 4G home broadband products."
