Local pubs are set to host Irish-themed live music events this weekend in celebration of St Patrick's Day.

Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

St Patrick’s Day at The Cornerhouse

 

La Motte Street pub The Cornerhouse is hosting three days of Irish-themed live music and entertainment.

  • Friday (20:30): The Impressions 
  • Saturday (18:30): U2 Tribute with Rich Allo and (20:30) Fiddlers Green
  • Sunday: (18:30) Fiddlers Green and (20:30) The Impressions

Live Music at Kitty O'Shea's

Kitty O'Shea's pub will feature live entertainment this weekend to celebrate St Patrick's Day. 

  • Friday 20:30: Laydee and the Amp
  • Saturday 20:30: The Impressions
  • Sunday afternoon 15:00: Ronan Benson
  • Sunday evening: 16:00 Sula

Jugs and more Jugs 

CCA Galleries on Hill Street has launched an exhibition of recent works by Scottish artist Bruce McLean called 'Sculptures of Jugs and Paintings of Sculptures of Jugs’.

The gallery will also host a Buck’s Fizz Brunch event on Saturday 16 March at 11:00 with the artist demonstrating print techniques.

The brunch event is free, but reservation is required.

Treadmill fashion show

The Autism Jersey shop at the Parade is launching its spring stock this weekend, and has promised that many new items are on offer. 

This Saturday, they will be hosting a 'trendy treadmill trek' which will be streamed on social media. 

Spring Flower Show at RJHS

Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society will host its Spring Flower Show at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00. 

There will be lots to see including daffodils, cut flowers, camellias, pot plants, fruit and vegetables, flower arranging, and cacti and succulents. 

The event will feature pedal tractors, refreshments from Beresford Street Kitchen, craft stalls, the International Camellia Society Show and a carrot workshop.  

Craft Market at St Andrews

A new market with craft stalls will be hosted at St Andrew's Hall to raise money for Jersey Cancer Relief and Chestnut Farm. 

It will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 15:30.

Jersey Repair Café

Islanders can get their broken household items fixed for free at Janvirin School this Saturday while enjoying live music and refreshments.  

The repair cafe is located behind the old JCG on La Pouquelaye with free parking available.

Items can include clothing and fabrics, electricals and electronics, bicycles and e-bikes, toys and gadgets, computers and tech, ornaments and sometimes small furniture. 

Potty Eco Pots' 'Rag Trade' will also be there, with islanders invited to bring along any unwanted clothes and items to be taken home by someone else for free.

Kids Clothing Bonanza

The Cancer Research shop on Halkett Place is hosting a clothing sale on Sunday 17 March for babies, children and teenagers. 

Shoes, books, toys, stationary, accessories and lego will also be on offer from 11:00 to 16:00.

The shop recently announced that they were looking for volunteers to sort and assemble Lego sets to ensure they are in good condition for resale.
