ITV's Britain's Got Talent is on the hunt for some local stars to shine in the next series.

Talent scouts will be in the Island next month to audition students from the Progressive School of Music.

The Music School's Principal Leila Begg said: "Our joint choirs will be performing a 2013/14 'Mash-Up' which is a medley of popular songs from those years and a song called 'Africa' which was originally by Toto.

"Seven of our regular singers aged from six upwards will be auditioning. We also have piano students in the school and two of them will be auditioning. One is a superb jazz / blues pianist who is at university at the moment studying law, but making a nice little living with his jazz quartet while he's there and who composes the most wonderful music, so he'll play one of his original compositions. His brother who is younger, also composes and wrote a lovely piece which was for piano, cello and choir, so will be performing at the audition too."

The crew will be here on Friday 11 September and Leila hopes to hire the Arts Centre for the auditions. She wants to hear from any of her students who want to share their talent on a bigger stage. They can book a place at the auditions by emailing psmjersey@gmail.com.

Jules O'Dwyer and her four-legged friend Matisse won Britain's Got Talent this year - Britain's second biggest TV talent show after The X Factor. They'll perform at this year's Royal Variety Performance in London's Royal Albert Hall in November. 'Old Men Grooving' who were one of the finalists will be performing at this year's Jersey Live.
