Jersey will be taking the opportunity to showcase its top produce as leaders from the UK and Irish governments take part in a summit on the island today… So what will be in their goodie bags? And what’s on the menu for dinner?
The island is today hosting the 39th meeting of the British-Irish Council, which is made up of representatives from the UK and Irish governments, the devolved administrations of the Scottish and Welsh governments and Northern Ireland Executive, as well as the governments of Crown Dependencies.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chief Minister Kristina Moore said it would be an "excellent opportunity to demonstrate all that is best in our beautiful island and provide the Council with an opportunity to experience Jersey’s culture, cuisine, and hospitality".
Express took a closer look at the 'Genuine Jersey' produce being showcased...
As well as Deputy Moore and her counterparts from Guernsey and the Isle of Man, in attendance today are:

The theme for this year’s summit is 'Building for the Future: Green and Affordable', focusing on affordability of housing, energy efficiency in building, retrofitting, future skills, modern methods of construction and innovation.
The group arrived on Thursday, and in the evening received a presentation from Jersey's Youth Parliament. This morning they visited Andium Homes' affordable homes development at the Limes on Green Street.
For starters, representatives had a choice of Jersey crab with prawn gâteau, pickled samphire, cucumber, brioche wafer and lemon mayonnaise, or a beetroot carpaccio complete with blackberry puree, Jersey dairy "cave-aged" cheddar bonbon and pickled shallots.
