Blue Islands to trial Luxembourg flights for business travellers

Friday 15 March 2024

Blue Islands has announced it will trial a direct link between Jersey and Luxembourg this spring targeted at business travellers.

The airline ran a survey about direct flights to Luxembourg earlier this year, gathering feedback from the business community to assess demand for the route.

Flights are now due to make the trip twice a week during a four-week trial starting on 14 May.

Blue Islands CEO Rob Veron said the airline was “excited” to trial the link, which he explained would offer “convenient departure times” and save business travellers time and money.

He added: “Support from businesses during the trial combined with the commitment already received will determine if a viable scheduled Luxembourg service can be launched to fully complement our Isle of Man service announced last week.

“This enhanced connectivity could be a true enabler for industry across these jurisdictions – we are hopeful that this trial will attract sufficient demand to support the viability of a permanent direct service between the islands and Luxembourg.”

James Young, a change officer at services firm Crestbridge, said the link would prove “a game-changer” for the company’s teams.

Flights to Luxembourg are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday during the weeks commencing on 13 May, 10 June, 24 June and 8 July.

Flights are currently priced at £289 each way, or £579.98 for a return journey.
